We are situated in Bandar Penawar-Desaru, Johor. Our campus is located less than 72 km to Johor Bahru.

When was INSTEDT founded?

INSTEDT was originally founded in 1998.

How many programs are available at INSTEDT?

INSTEDT offers 21 Diploma programs in a variety of disciplines including management, secretarial, accounting, finance, communication, media, nursing, health sciences, hospitality, culinary and many more.

Are all INSTEDT Diploma programs recognised and approved by Ministry of Education Malaysia and Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA)?

Yes, all of our Diploma programs are recognised and approved by Ministry of Education Malaysia and Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA).

How many students attend INSTEDT?

There are approximately 1,700 undergraduate students are currently in attendance.

What is the average class size?

The average class size at INSTEDT is 18 students.

What is the teacher-to-student ratio?

INSTEDT maintains a 15:1 student-to-teacher ratio.

Can I further my studies to IPTA after I have completed my my studies at INSTEDT?

Yes, the student has the opportunity to further studies at any IPTA or IPTS in the country.

What are the requirements for me to apply for INSTEDT’s Diploma Programs?

The requirements are varied from program to program. However, the MINIMUM requirement is obtained Three Credits (obtained minimum grade C in three subjects) in SPM. See our Programs web page to learn more about our programs’ requirements.


What type of security is present at INSTEDT?

INSTEDT employs a 24 hours-a-day, 365 days-a-year staff of security officers. These officers enforce all college policies.

How many students live on campus?

Nearly 1,000 students live on campus while attending classes at INSTEDT.

Does INSTEDT offer hostel?

Yes, we offer hostel to students. Our hostel types are varied. These include three apartment complexes, bungalow houses, and dormitory. The students are free to choose the type of hostel they wish to reside. However this still depends of the availability and operates on first-come-first-serve basis. What type of transportation is available at INSTEDT?

INSTEDT provides a free shuttle bus service for the student’s convenience to meet their academic timetable through accessible routes and schedules. The shuttles operate Monday to Friday from approximately 7.30 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the term time. Route information and approximate times are displayed on the bus.

Can all students have a car on campus?

Yes, all students that have a valid driving license may have a car on campus. The students may purchase a parking pass at the Student Residential Department.

What kind of financial aid is available?

Financial Aids like educational funds, scholarships and loans are available to many college students based on academic achievements and students’ financial background. See financial aids webpage or call our Student Affairs Department at 07-8222008 ext 402 to find out more about financial aids.

Is there a flexible payment plan for students?

Yes, we offer a flexible payment plan for the students to spread out the cost of tuition in several monthly, interest-free payments. To learn more about payment plan, call our Accounts Department at 07-8222008 ext 207.

How can I apply for a financial aid or scholarship?

How do I apply to INSTEDT?

You can apply online at OpenCCCApply or come straight to our Admissions and Records Office at Level 2, INSTEDT, Bangunan Kejora, Jalan Dato’ Onn, Bandar Penawar 81930 Johor. For complete information, visit the Undergraduate Admissions webpage.

What documents do I need to submit with the application?

Generally, there is no document needed to submit with the application. However in some circumstances, our staff may need the applicants to submit a verified copy of SPM certificate via fax to 07-8222010 or email to

What is the deadline to apply to INSTEDT?

INSTEDT operates on a rolling-admissions process with no formal deadline.

How long does it take for my application to be processed?

Usually, the process should take no more than a week. However due to high numbers of applications the process may take up to two weeks. An offer letter will be sent to you if your application is successful and our staff will contact you soon. You may also contact our marketing department at 07-8222008 ext 202 to find out about the status of your application.

I have received my Offer Letter. What should I do next?

Once receive you Offer Letter, you need to make payment of the processing fee, amount as stipulated in the Offer letter via direct bank in or internet banking – MAYBANK BERHAD  payable to: INSTEDT (M) SDN BHD (Account No: 551070102272). An original of the bank-in slip or online transactions should be forwarded to the Accounts department. Once the payment is made, you will need to come to on our Registration Day. The date, time and address as stated in the Offer Letter. Bring along the things and documents that you are required to bring as stated in the Offer Letter.

I am STPM leaver. Can I apply to INSTEDT?

Yes, SPM and STPM leavers can apply.
